PARTNER IN THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC of CONGO (DRC): -In the D R CONGO , CWI work with COAPETRA/FVEO .Consolation of Orphans, The Elderly, Female Victims of Rape and Children born from Rape CWI raise funds to assist the work of COAPETRA in the Congo . It also gathers donations of material nature and sends these to COAPETRA in the DRC and other Congolese Organisation with similar aims. It establishes parternership and programs with organisations in Ireland, other European countries, and in the DRC with those aims and objectives are consistent and compatible with COAPETRA and CWI . CWI Organisation work in collaboration with other Parters Group in the D R Congo to promote and defend Human rights trough education and awareness-raising,to participate in the rehabilitation of victims of violence. |
FACTS:Women and children have no access to the medical treatment Sudden death after being raped due the pain and bleeding HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted disease Unwanted pregnancy caused by rape . High level of suicide among women that been abandoned and rejected by the community EFFECTS:Rapes a powerful weapon which usually leaves its victims physically and psychologically traumatized Its effects can be felt for a lifetime . it also does huge damage to families and communities. There are a real sense of shame around the women who have been raped. Rape destroys the balance and harmony of a family, as often the victims are rejected by its community members and sometimes, the husband 2 humiliated2 by the scene rape happening in front of himself and children. NEEDs:Human Right of Women and children need to be consider. Education and Family planning introduced to the community . Psychology assictance tovictims that need to rebuild their confidence in life. Raise Awarness about the silence to those atrocities. The World mist STOP the War in tne DRC.
